Contributions

Technological contributions:

  • Postulating SME suitable concept of a collaborative, human-centric technology for complex tasks with high flexibility and robustness with small deployment effort to allow rapid production changeover
  • Developing Modular Building Blocks for Industrial Humanoid Robot based on advanced characteristics of new construction materials (e.g. composites, advanced polymers, metal foams, etc.) and new control and sensing capabilities
  • Developing industry robust dexterous multi-fingered robotic hand for effective bimanual robotic assembly operations in mass customized manufacturing
  • Developing shop-floor-suitable, intuitive human-machine interface for effective cognitive and physical worker-robot interaction in industrial environment
  • Validating developed robotic technology in a real-world production experiments by two specific manufacturing scenarios: Dynamically Reconfigurable Collaborative Bimanual Robotic Assembly and Collaborative Dual-arm Fixtureless Robotic Arcwelding.
  • Creating effective communication channel for knowledge dissemination and state-of-the art technology transfer from research institutions to manufacturing companies in Serbia and China (from lab to market)

Scientific contributions:

  • Collaborative models for human-robot interaction, i.e. operation of human-centric industrial robots based on knowledge (mathematical model) of particular technological processes and human behavior (working skill)
  • Modular Building Blocks for Industrial Humanoid Robot, is assumed a self-programming, smart, dual-armed industrial robot that appears and behaves (operates) similarly to humans, for safe and effective human-machine collaboration
  • Robust multi-fingered robotic hand compatible with rigorous requirements for industrial use, equipped with extensive tactile and force sensing capabilities, and bioinspired control system for human hand skills acquisition from experienced human worker(s).
  • Intuitive human-machine interface based on visual and force perception and audio-visual software interpreter of human voice and gestures (body and face), additionally reinforced by Virtual and Augmented Reality technology.
  • Algorithms for coordinated/synchronized bi-manual and dual-arm manipulation in presence of stationary and dynamic obstacles.
